Opis

Wow! Another St. Michael’s Long Term Care Centre Resident turning 101 years old!

St. Michael’s Health Group is very happy to announce another celebration for the 101st birthday of a resident in long-term care, Wladyslaw Sekida.
This still active gentleman credits having a happy, active healthy lifestyle to his longevity despite the trials of living through a world war.
A little bit about Wladyslaw –
 He was born 3rd in his family in Panasowka, Poland and he was a front line solider in the II World War, with experiences too difficult to recount  Wladyslaw married his wife Anna in 1951 in Poland and had three children – Regina, Stanley and Danuta. He has 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who enjoy visiting with him daily  In 1979 he moved to Edmonton to make a better life for his wife and children, and he worked as a janitor at the Polish Hall for many years  When he wasn’t at work you could find him in the garden, growing beautiful flowers  He continues to keep busy as he is very involved with the Physio Department here at STMLCC where he does regular exercise and walking. He also keeps his mind active reading books in Polish, keeping up to date with politics, listening to music and watching sports on tv  He is known as the candy man as he always had candy in his pockets. Wladyslaw enjoys when staff and other residents come to visit but you can never leave his room without receiving a candy and a smile  Wladyslaw is always willing to help as needed and is a very giving man
